Due cose: 1 - Mi pare che Hans Reiser ad un certo punto abbia iniziato ad auto-difendersi (congiuntamente al suo avvocato). Ora, gli informatici sono delle vere teste di cazzo. Se usciamo per un attimo dallo stereotipo del geek, l'informatico e' una persona tipicamente arrogante nel difendere le sue posizioni ed insopportabile quando sa di aver ragione. Questo e' ben tollerato ed anzi utile nell' ambiente informatico perche' e' the right thing in un ambiente nel quale gli sbagli nel design li sconti mesi e mesi di lavoro dopo, e non hai quasi mai modo di tornare indietro sui tuoi passi una volta in ballo. Se non ci credete, andate nella mailing list del kernel, o di ffmpeg e fate una domanda stupida. Vedrete che vi tratteranno peggio che su asphalto quando posti un link senza commento a un video youtube obsoleto in un post intitolato "Nessun Argomento" e il vostro nick e' rcp. Ora, ci sono informatici che portano questa deformazione professionale in real life*. Reiser e' uno di questi, ed unisce questi tratti acquisiti ad una grandissima testadicazzaggine naturale. Tutti quelli che l'hanno conosciuto concordano: Hans Reiser e' un arrogante stronzo che ti tratta da imbecille per default. Leggevo su slashdot che questo atteggiamento l'ha portato ad alienarsi completamente la giuria. Nessuna meraviglia che alla fine l'abbiano preso a calci nel culo. 2 - Per rendere la cosa ancor piu' surreale, sappiate che Reiser aveva un amico, tale Sean Sturgeon. Aveva, perche' ad un certo punto Sturgeon ha iniziato a bombarsi Nina, la moglie di Hans presunta morta, e i rapporti tra i due si sono raffreddati. Insomma, quasi contemporaneamente al processo Reiser, si scopre che questo Sturgeon e' un serial killer che ha ammazzato nove persone. Sturgeon confessa candidamente tutti i suoi omicidi, ma insiste incrollabile sul fatto che non ha ammazzato Nina, ed e' piuttosto convincente, visto che il giudice esclude la sua testimonianza dal processo Reiser: # Sean Sturgeon, a one-time friend of Reiser, and alleged ex-lover of Nina, confessed to killing eight other people and leaving a ninth for dead. However, he claims he did not kill Nina. According to preliminary court testimony, Sturgeon dated Nina, but she broke off the relationship in January 2006.[43] Some of the rent checks for the house Nina Reiser was living in came from Sturgeon,[44] and at one point, he had a key to the house.[45] Sturgeon had also left a message on Nina Reiser's voicemail saying if she needed "to get away from anything for a while…you can call me and I won't say anything about it to nobody."[46] Reiser's defense attorney has suggested that Sean Sturgeon's possible involvement has not been thoroughly investigated.[47] Testimony relating to Sturgeon's confession to the separate killings was not allowed in Reiser's trial.[48] * Ora qualcuno dira': anche Cotard. E' probabilmente vero per quanto riguarda asphalto, non e' assolutamente vero per quanto riguarda la real life.
